by Roberto Jaen "The students had a phenomenal experience, and I can tell you as their teacher, seeing them work together today made me realize that we met our objective for the first semester: we have become famiLIA." -Laurel Considine LIA Teacher at John I. Leonard High School Frida Kahlo once said: "I don't paint dreams or nightmares, I paint my own reality." I'd like to believe this is what the students at John I. Leonard High School were thinking when they worked together to paint this AMAZING mural! Just look at the pictures! Isn't is GREAT? The theme they chose for the mural was: "Nuestra voz will change the world." (Our voice will change the world.) What an inspiring message, right? And we agree, using your voice is one of the most powerful ways to change the communities we live in.
This is your reality! If you want to change the world you live in, you need to USE YOUR VOICE! Latinos in Action encourages you to do this by spreading positive and inlcusive messages, by inspiring, motivating, and uplifting others. We know that by doing so, you'll become the leaders this world needs. How can you use your voice to change the world? Let us know in the comment section. Oh, and happy holidays!
